3D Human Anatomy Wisdom :

There are long stories to tell about the development
of functional 3d anatomy, and it sure is a work-intense
enterprise. Not all makers take it as seriously as we do :
So, you may be cheated when you buy such models
from a site that doesn´t like to show many credentials
and even from some who do... not cheated like robbing,
more like showing you 2d pictures projected onto
3d geometries and passing them off for functional 3D :
this is not a rule but neither an exception on the web.

Such models (3d anatomy data) are of course useful
if you only render and animate (as well as the guys who
are selling them), but will not be okay
for education and engineering.

If you are offered *complete* human anatomy sets
at polygon rates below 1.5 million, that only means
that you are going to be cheated most times, as it is
impossible at such rates to include all parts like the
bronchial alveoli, full nerve system and the likes...

Here at humanbody3d, we sell you all the parts
and if you are a real specialist who still needs more detail,
we stick to the deal and create those as well,
at no extra charge.

On the other hand, we do not render so very well :
but we have the substance, you can be sure to get *at least*
results as good as we ourselves show, quickly -
because we have no time to render as we use up
almost all our time to create new and better anatomy :
true, worthwhile 3d anatomy that is comparatively cheap
for the money and as such a more than honest deal.
Or in other words we try to be the "good guys" of 3d anatomy,
which is a thorny path as the web is a marketing language paradise.

But now, for the Essentials :

First, people ask themselves what software they need
to have 3d on their computer (or their smartphone) -
now smartphones and pad are still very small if we are honest,
and we should hope the phones wil not grow as big again
as they used to be in the Nineties...

So, phones will have to rely on special "apps",
while virtual 3d anatomy is a thing for real computers,
Notebook minimum (okay, you can do certain things on a netbook)
no matter if Windows, Linux or MacOs - Windows is best as there is
all the (free) 3d software around other OSes are lacking.

However free 3d software on computers usually means animation
software rather than CAD - CAD programs are very complex
and incompatible (they also are pretty expensive and made)
by people who know no freebies, while the animation programs are
as complex as their CAD counterparts but decent and
rather compatible, and some are even free.

Many people who are programming apps for phones are
using "Blender" for helping to get the 3d end of
their OpenGL phone-apps or web-apps fixed.
Others who want a more easy-going software may us G-max
or even Milkshape or Google Sketchup.

While we are at it - 3D doesn´t mean stereoscopic.
Sure, you can have that as well (there are some stereoscopic
images at this site), it means 3d coordinates in virtual 3d space,
ir means you can move around a bone like a predator,
that you can explore all the human anatomy in 5-6000 parts
like a picky bird - though the images you see are still
on a flat screen - but you need not wear fancy glasses...
stereoscopic 3d is just an optical gimmick that
the media industry uses to sell all the old movies again,
re-created for the 5th time, only this time in "3D".
the difference is clear and joke really -
but many people get confused by this.

So let us muse some more about 3d virtual human anatomy here,
and why is it all so complicated ? Why does it have so many parts ?
Well in the first place, human anatomy IS complicated
and has some extremely strange forms (think about
the sphenoid bone or inner ear structures, or some brain interna)
and thus dificult to get into computer space (virtualized)
without creating overmuch data.
Sure, ct-scans are good and well but they have about
15 or more times the amount of data needed... this is where
intelligent software and experienced 3D artists come in,
simplifying and organizing the 3d anatomy in painstaking
ways, so you can use the results with relative ease.

The second trouble with ct scan output is that you ideally
would want all data from, say, a male and a female 25 year old
completely healthy athlete - but these people rarely get scanned
and if they do, they may have strange and unusual shortcomings.

To create ideal and practical 3d human anatomy,
you need more than scans.
You need to use every source you can access.
To be continued soon...
